Bernadette Hallow is bitten on Halloween and returns to Strickfield Academy with an undead army—but the headmistress has a secret life hunting monsters.

Halloween lasts seven days in Strickfield, yet the strict Catholic academy refuses to close. Rebellious cheerleader Bernadette already hates the school, its rules, and Headmistress Hiltonson when a walk through the woods leaves her infected. Death does not end her anger. She rises hungry, powerful, and determined to make the students and teachers who tormented her part of a shambling new class.

Bernadette’s first-person rampage turns the campus into a zombie outbreak filled with flesh-eating revenge, dark humor, and Strickfield connections. But Hiltonson is not an ordinary administrator. By day she enforces the academy’s discipline; by night she tracks vampires, werewolves, and other creatures she believes were sent by Satan. The headmistress has trained for exactly the supernatural rebellion Bernadette brings to her kitchen.

Rob Fields’s “A Zombie’s Halloween” is a seasonal zombie horror story about school resentment, an undead cheerleader, a monster-hunting nun, and a Halloween battle inside Strickfield Academy.
