Carrie Culberson disappeared from Blanchester, Ohio, in August 1996 after enduring escalating violence from her on-and-off boyfriend, Vincent Doan.

The 22-year-old and her red Honda CRX vanished during the night of August 28–29. Witness testimony, a history of abuse, and evidence surrounding her final hours focused the investigation on Doan, but searches—including a troubled search of a pond—failed to recover Carrie’s body or car. In 1997, a jury convicted Doan of aggravated murder and kidnapping, and he received life without parole. He has maintained his innocence.

This 100th Terrifying & True episode examines a rare no-body murder conviction, the evidence presented at trial, disputed investigative decisions, and the Culberson family’s fight to expose how law enforcement handled Carrie’s reports of domestic violence. Her remains and vehicle have still not been found.
