Unknown Broadcast | The Red Forest: Wildfire Survival, a Fugitive Killer and the Road to Missoula

Fugitive Wally Pindell picks up a hitchhiker bound for Missoula, then a raging forest fire traps them with a ranger, trooper, and makeshift crew.

Wally is already afraid of the woods when he emerges from a failed hunt and sees a red glow circling the mountain road. He gives Jan a ride toward her new job, but authorities stop the car and press every available person into the fire response. The road is cut off, the wind has shifted, and flames on three sides leave only a dangerous route toward a distant firebreak.

As the group crosses the burning forest, Wally tells Jan why he is running. A former friend framed him for a fatal crash, costing him five years, his marriage, and his life before prison. Wally later killed the man and fled. State trooper Hanson overhears the confession, creating a second threat even as the crew loses men to exhaustion, injury, and the advancing blaze.

Written and directed by Anthony Ellis, “The Red Forest” stars William Conrad as Wally and Georgia Ellis as Jan. It combines wildfire survival, fugitive crime, roadside romance, and moral reckoning in a Montana-bound Escape adventure where confession may be the only path out.
