The Lake Michigan Triangle gathers real maritime disasters, an aviation mystery, strange disappearances, and paranormal folklore inside one stretch of Great Lakes water.

This episode maps the legendary triangle between Ludington, Benton Harbor, and Manitowoc before following the incidents that built its reputation. They include the 1679 disappearance of Le Griffon, Captain George Donner’s vanishing from a locked cabin aboard the O.M. McFarland, and the overturned Rosa Belle, whose crew was nowhere to be found.

The mystery expands into the air with Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 2501. In June 1950, the DC-4 carrying 58 people encountered severe weather and disappeared over Lake Michigan; scattered debris was recovered, but the main wreckage was not located. The episode also recounts the story of a missing college student who resurfaced more than a year later far from the lake with no clear account of his journey.
