Two cousins steal body parts for a black-market doctor, then discover his warehouse experiments have transformed human remains into a living hive.
The narrator and his cousin Jimmy make their money by robbing cadavers and delivering the pieces to a man they call Doc. Jimmy is reckless, cruel, and always eager to take their crimes further. When Doc offers more money for living subjects, the cousins cross a line even their graveyard work never prepared them to face.
At Doc’s warehouse, refrigerated body parts, strange laboratory equipment, and a silence that feels wrong point to an experiment out of control. A swarm of screaming parasites—Doc’s “banshbees”—has found a new way to use human flesh, and the cousins’ latest victims may not be the only bodies waiting to become part of the hive.
“The Trouble with Cousins” is a narrated body-horror story mixing corpse theft, mad science, parasitic insects, criminal depravity, splatter, and pitch-black humor. Family ties brought these two men into business together; surviving what Doc created may finally sever them.
