Terrifying & True | Keddie Cabin Murders: The Unsolved Mystery of Cabin 28

The Keddie Cabin murders left three people dead inside Cabin 28, a child missing, and a California mountain community haunted by questions the first investigation failed to answer.

On the morning of April 12, 1981, Sheila Sharp returned to her family’s cabin at the Keddie resort and found her mother, Glenna “Sue” Sharp; her brother John; and John’s friend Dana Wingate murdered. Three younger boys had survived elsewhere in the cabin, but 12-year-old Tina Sharp was gone. Her remains were discovered three years later, roughly 50 miles away.

This episode reconstructs the crime scene, the binding materials and weapons, and the puzzling separation between the victims and the children who survived. It examines the focus on neighboring residents Martin Smartt and Severin “Bo” Boubede as suspects while clearly distinguishing suspicion, reported statements, and theory from proof.

Terrifying & True also follows the case’s later reexamination: an overlooked letter, a recording connected to the discovery of Tina’s remains, claims about a confession to a therapist, a hammer recovered near Keddie, and DNA testing that renewed interest in evidence preserved from Cabin 28. No one has been charged in the killings, leaving the Sharp family and Dana Wingate at the center of one of Northern California’s most disturbing unsolved murder cases.
