I Know Who You Are: A Beagle Leads His Owner to a Doppelgänger in the Woods

Rita’s beagle follows an impossible scent into the woods, then leads her back to a woman and dog who look exactly like them—but dead.

Miller is an energetic young beagle who means everything to Rita. During their daily walk behind Summit Homes Retirement Center, he tears free of the leash and vanishes into the trees. Rita finds him frightened beside a patch of disturbed earth and brings him home, but that night he begins tracking something through the house. His growls, frantic digging, and desperate return to the woods suggest that whatever he scented has followed them.

In a violent storm, Rita discovers Miller facing an identical beagle across a strange boundary. Behind the other dog stands a decaying woman who mirrors Rita’s every movement and insists she knows who Rita really is. The encounter forces a stolen identity, a murdered twin, and a love for one loyal animal to collide at the border between the living and the dead.
